Designing the Ideal Home Office
With more people working from home these days, the demand for office space in residences has skyrocketed – and this trend isn’t showing signs of slowing down any time soon. So, what are some of the trends in home-work spaces for 2021?
Here are some that reside at the top of the list:
If you work from home – and you’re also playing it safe by not leaving your residence other than to forage for food and other necessities – it can become somewhat monotonous. Because of that, many of today’s home office renovations include colorful paint on the walls, along with bold rugs and other vibrant accents.
Depending on your particular area of work, it may be necessary for you to have peace and quiet to allow for better focus. This is why some people are investing in soundproofing, like double (or even triple) paned windows and acoustic panels to block out noise.
While the occasional work-from-home project in the past might not have required all the bells and whistles of a full-blown home office space, things are quite different today. So, for those who are spending 8 or more hours per day working from home, ample lighting can make a tremendous difference in terms of the ability to focus on the projects at hand.
Neutral or Professional Background
As more virtual meetings take place via Zoom and/or similar online event providers, it is important to be aware of what the other attendees can see around you in your space. So, having a neutral or professional background (i.e., a wall with business-like photos or certificates) is highly recommended.
