How to Add an Inviting Guest Area to Your Central Florida Home
Living in Central Florida, the heart of the Sunshine State, can have a number of nice perks, such as a year-round warm climate, and close proximity to entertainment and activities for “kids” of all ages. It could also mean that you have frequent visitors, and if this is the case, it is oftentimes nice to provide your guests – and yourself – with some added privacy.
In this case, the first item on the agenda is to determine whether an existing area of the home could be used, or if it makes more sense to add some additional square footage. Once you’ve nailed down where the guest suite will be, the next order of business is to design it to be welcoming and relaxing.
Some of the items to consider here will usually include:
- Closet space – a walk-in closet can oftentimes make things easier on your guests, as they will have a larger space for storing their luggage, as well as for storing their clothes (as versus leaving them in a suitcase for an extended period of time)
- Furniture – this ideally includes a king or queen bed, a dresser, and lighting, as well as an end table or designated spot for charging cell phones, laptops, and/or other devices that your visitors may have brought with them
Another key feature in an ideal guest suite is a private bathroom. Regardless of how long and how well you know your visitors, everyone will typically be more comfortable when they’re not forced to share a toilet, shower, and vanity area.
